Need more information? Here are some frequently asked questions:
Is marijuana really legal?
While marijuana remains illegal at the federal level, it has been legalized in Ohio at the state level. It can only be recommended by physicians (MD/DO) specially endorsed by the state to do so.
What happens during the initial visit?
You will receive an evaluation by the physician including a review of your medical history, current treatment plan and treatment goals. This visit is completed virtually and will not be scheduled until you are pre-approved to receive the recommendation.
Can anyone get medical marijuana?
Under Ohio law, only the following are qualifying medical conditions:
AIDS, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, cachexia, cancer, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, Crohn’s disease, epilepsy or another seizure disorder, fibromyalgia, glaucoma, hepatitis C, Huntington's disease, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, multiple sclerosis, pain that is either chronic and severe or intractable, Parkinson’s disease, positive status for HIV, post-traumatic stress disorder, sickle cell anemia, spasticity, spinal cord disease or injury, terminal illness, Tourette’s syndrome, traumatic brain injury, ulcerative colitis
Do you diagnose conditions?
We do not diagnose medical conditions, or prescribe any other medications.
What are the fees?
The fee for new patients is $249, or $199 for renewing patients.
What happens after the appointment?
If the physician determines that Medical Marijuana is right for you, our office will enter you into Ohio’s patient registry. The state will then send you an email to set up your profile. You will be required to pay a $.01 (yes, only a penny!) registration fee with the state to obtain and download your Ohio Medical Marijuana card.
How do I get the actual marijuana?
Once you are fully registered with the State’s registry, you can visit any of the many dispensaries in Ohio. You will need to show your Ohio Medical Marijuana card and state-issued ID upon arrival.
